Pregnancy
Pregnancy is an exciting time for parents-to-be. Use this information to help you make informed decisions from conception through delivery.

Your Newborn Baby
Sleeping, eating, crying, cooing—your new arrival will keep you busy. You'll soon figure out his or her patterns and preferences.

Trust DeKalb Regional Medical Center (DRMC) for one of the most important experiences of your life!

The hospital has 13 postpartum rooms, six labor/delivery and recovery suites, a nursery and modern medical technology.

DRMC installed a $100,000 Accutech infant security system in September 2007. The system provides a greater security level to ensure new parents that their babies are safe from birth until discharge. The process is simple and secure. A nurse attaches a sensor band around a newborn’s ankle. If the band is removed or detected by sensors, an alarm sounds and the facility is locked down. Hospital employees are summoned to the infant’s room and to various hospital locations. The band is connected to a computer system, so staff can determine the baby’s identity instantly. Patient comfort and security are things we take seriously, and we’re constantly looking for ways to improve. Even if there’s never been a problem before, we’re proactive in addressing issues before they become problems.
