Rehabilitation Services

DRMC’s award-winning rehabilitation center offers physical, occupational, speech and aquatic therapy, all in one location. Our experienced team can work closely with you to provide treatments and exercises specifically designed to put you back in the game quickly and safely. Under the direction of our orthopedic surgeons, our physical therapy department provides one-on-one care to hospitalized patients as well as to outpatients requiring therapy after surgery or an injury.

We’re proud to offer therapy for postorthopedic surgery on the upper and lower back; after motor vehicle accidents; after strokes; before surgery; for chronic conditions such as back pain and carpal tunnel syndrome; for pediatric conditions; and for any other muscle, neurological or bone-related injuries or conditions.

Rehabilitation Services is on the hospital campus behind the main hospital in the same building as Fitness First. An advantage of being connected to the hospital’s fitness center is having equipment not usually available at other rehab clinics, such as a covered, heated pool.

We’re pleased to offer these services to people in our region, so they don’t have to travel far from home to take advantage of quality healthcare opportunities.

Our Equipment

The rehabilitation department at DeKalb Regional Medical Center (DRMC) has a Triton Traction unit, which is designed to aid in the treatment of chronic back problems such as herniated discs, bulging discs, back and neck pain, pinched nerves and even arthritis. This equipment is designed to better treat patients who suffer from chronic pain and other ailments.

The department also has a modular therapy system that consolidates several different types of physical therapy treatment. The Vectra Genisys System is an update to equipment already on hand in the department and offers electrotherapy, ultrasound, combination and laser treatment options. This equipment is designed to treat chronic pain, muscle spasms, stiff joints and other complaints.

This equipment represents improvement in our services and the care patients receive through the DRMC Rehabilitation Department.
