Visitor Policy Update March 25, 2020
For the protection of our patients, staff and community, no visitors will be allowed to enter DeKalb Regional Medical Center unless approved for an exception.
Approved visitors must also check-in at a designated point of entry and participate in a screening.
A visitor will then be issued a visitor wristband and can proceed to the appropriate destination.
Visitation policy
We take the health and safety of caregivers, patients and visitors very seriously which is why effective immediately NO VISITORS will be allowed at DeKalb Regional with a few exceptions noted below.
Exceptions:
- End of life patients
- Legal guardians
- Significant other for OB patients
Even if you meet these visitor criteria, if you have respiratory symptoms, fever, sore throat or a runny nose, we ask that you still do not visit patients in the hospital at this time.
Hospital Entrance Restrictions in Place
To ensure we are doing everything to protect our Patients, Staff, Physicians, and limited Visitors from the spread of COVID-19, DeKalb Regional is now consolidating to two entrances, the Emergency Department entrance and the main entrance, and will be administering a temperature screening to everyone who enters the facility.
- Wash your hands often while visiting our facility. It prevents the spread of germs that can cause infection.
- If you've got a fever, cold, or any infection symptoms, stay home.
- Dekalb Regional Medical Center is a tobacco-free campus. No smoking is allowed anywhere on the grounds.
- Don't bring patients food or candies unless your attending doctor gives permission.
